Ara: H D Jain College, Ara,  administration has rejected request of the Bhojpur District administration to transfer 10 acre of its land for the establishment of an engineering college.

Bhojpur district administration had selected the land of H D Jain College located Maharaja College, Ara,  for construction of an engineering college and prepared a project to be sent to the government for approval in this regard. The district administration needed no objection certificate from the H D Jain college administration and sent a letter to the principal of the college requesting him to transfer the 10 acre of land to the Bhojpur district administration for the establishment of an engineering college at the district headquarters, Ara,  in the larger interest of the students.

In the light of request letter from Bhojpur district administration, a meeting of the Staff Council of H D Jain College presided over by Principal, H D Jain College, C S Saha, was held on August 10. The Staff Council rejected the request of the Bhojpur district administration saying  the college will construct new college buildings, residence of teachers and non-teaching staff, hostel, indoor stadium of the college on the said land as per the direction of the University Grant Commission (UGC).
