Patna : Even as the state capital is on high alert for Muharram, two bike borne criminals gunned down a man in a lane on the northern side of Kotwali police station, Patna, on September 21, 2018, afternoon. The criminals fired four rounds at the youth who died while being taken to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH). The deceased was identified as Firoz alias Tabrez, a sharpshooter, considered close to a former MP.

Sources said that the youth was walking in the said lane. As he reached near the office of a gas agency there, criminals opened fire at him and escaped. Panic prevailed in the locality after the incident.
On getting information, police personnel from Kotwali police station reached there. Later, senior police officers reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. Police said that the deceased had committed several crimes including murders. The reason behind the murderous attack is not yet known, said a police officer.

Feroz had reached near Kotwali on his SUV to offer namaz when two bike borne criminals pumped four bullets at him. He fell on the ground and was rushed to PMCH but died mid way. Sources said that he is a resident of Samanpura, Patna.

Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj reached the spot. He claimed that the killers would be arrested at the earliest.
What is most shocking that a large number of policemen were deployed in the locality as a function was going on at Vidyapati Bhawan and Bihar Governor and Deputy Chief Minister were to attend it.
