Man sentenced to 10 yr RI for raping a minor

Bagaha : ADJ (1), Bagaha, Dipak Kumar Singh, on March 25, 2017, sentenced Vijay Kumar Sahni of Divipur Bazaar under Dhanaha police station in West Champaran district to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) and slapped a fine Rs  10,000 on him for raping a minor girl. According to  prosecution, Dhanaha police had registered a rape case under section 366(a) of the IPC against four named accused but during the trial, three were acquitted due lack of evidence and only Vijay Kumar Sahni was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years’ RI and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000. Additional public prosecutor A Hoda appeared on behalf of prosecution
