Ara : Satosh, a mason, strangulated to death his minor step-daughter on May 6, 2017, at Martin Railway Colony under Nawada police station, Ara. Police arrested him and forwarded him to jail. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station in this regard.
SHO, Nawada Police Station, Neyaz Ahamad, said that Sanju Devi of Bihia under Bihia police station had deserted her first husband and married Santosh, a mason, of Martin Railway colony under Nawada police station, 10 days back. She had a one- and- half -year old daughter Saiara from her first husband.
On May 6, Santosh came to his house in a drunken state and tugged the minor girl on the ground to kill her and when he failed, he strangulated her to death, the SHO said. After killing the minor girl, he sat down calmly. Hearing about the incident, the resident of the area rushed to the spot and thrashed Santosh and later handed him over to police.
