Sasaram: One Daya Shankar was strangulated to death allegedly by his wife and her kin at village Gaudal under Shahpur block in Bhojpur district. Later, the body was sent to his house in Rohtas district. Police lodged an FIR but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Dinara police station in Rohtas district, Abhinandan Kumar, said that Poonam Kumari called her husband Daya Shankar to her father’s house at Gaudal in Bhojpur district in the evening on August 14. On Monday, when he was sleeping in a room at his in-laws house in late evening, Poonam with the help of her father and brother strangulated Daya Shankar to death and sent the body to his house at village Bhanupur under Dinara police station in Rohtas district August 16.
The SHO said that Poonam, daughter of Ram Murat Bhatt of Gaudal, was married to Daya Shankar in 2008 and was his third wife. He had a son with his second wife. Since their marriage, their relation was not good and Poonam was living with her father for the last six months though Daya Shankar tried to bring her back several times but she remained unmoved.
