Man kidnapped for ransom in Bhojpur killed

Ara : A young man was kidnapped for ransom and subsequently killed at village Khandol under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district on Saturday evening. The villagers saw the body on the bank of river Sone near the village on Sunday morning and informed the police.

Angry villagers prevented police from taking the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and blocked Sandesh-Nasariganj NH 80 with the body and raided slogans against the district administration. They burnt tyres on road and paralyzed the movement of vehicles. ASP (Operation) Md. Sajid and SDPO, Ara, Sanjay Kumar rushed to the spot and tried to persuade the people but they were demanding presence of the SP the on the spot.

SDPO Sanajay Kumar said that Harendra Chaudahry, 22, son of Haridwar Chaudhary aias Taraiya of Khandol village,  had gone to attend the call of nature on Saturday. On way, some miscreants kidnapped him and demanded Rs 5 lakh ransom from his parents on his mobile. His parents immediately informed the police. When the kidnappers came to know that the police were informed, they killed Harendra and threw his body on the bank of the Sone river. An FIR has been lodged with police but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
