Ara : Sriram Ram, husband of Chunmuna Devi, Member, Ward number 3, Koyal panchayat, under Charpokhari block in Bhojpur district, who had sustained injuries in lathicharge by police in Patna during demonstration on March 22, 2017, succumbed to his injuries at his village Koyal under Charpokhari police station on March 29 evening. His son, who was arrested and sent to Beur Jail the same day, was brought over to Koyal under police custody perform the last rites of his father.
Sriram Ram, husband of Chunmuna Devi, along with his son Ram Chandra Ram had gone to Patna on March 22 to take part in the agitation of ward members to press their demands but police resorted to lathicharge on the demonstrators in which Sriram Ram was seriously injured along with others while police arrested his son Ram Chandra Ram and sent him to Beur jail. Sriram Ram returned to his village but his condition continued to deteriorate and he succumbed to his injuries on March 29 evening. He had two sons, the elder Ram Chandra was in jail while the younger one works in Mumbai hence the elder son was brought over under police custody to perform the last rites of his father.
