Aurangabad: An Aurangabad court on Monday awarded capital punishment to one Bipin Yadav for killing a married woman Gunja Rai (25) on June 24, 2013, near Hariharbigha under Mufassil police station in Aurangabad district. The court of ADJ 6, Aurangabad, Binod Kumar Tiwary awarded the punishment to the accused. Bipin is a native of village Pakha under Muffasil police station.
Court sources said that Gunja Rai, wife of a police constable Raj Kumar Rai (28), was murdered about three years ago. An FIR was lodged on the statement of a local chowkidar Krishna Paswan in which the deceased’s husband Raj Kumar Rai, his associates Bipin Yadav, Gunjan Kumar, Sashi Kumar and Madan Kumar were made accused. Barring Bipin, all the accused had been earlier awarded punishments by the court. The deceased’s husband was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Raj Kumar Rai was allegedly having an affair with a female cop and he hatched a conspiracy with his friends to get rid of his wife. Bipin took Rs 50,000 to eliminate Gunja and after eliminating her dumped her body near Hariharbigha village. Bipin had escaped from court premises before he was convicted on April 28. He, later, surrendered and was forwarded to jail.
