Giridih: Motorcycle borne criminals looted Rs 7. 43 lakh from a petrol pump staff near Atka branch of Bank of India under Bagodar police station in Giridih district in Jharkhand on Monday morning. The incident took place around 11am, when the staff of a Bagodar based petrol pump, Fulchand Kumar, was on his way to deposit the amount into the same branch. As soon as he reached near the branch premises,  three armed criminals came, thrashed him and looted the bag containing the cash from him. The criminals managed to escape from the spot. According to the eyewitnesses, the criminals also fired 2- 3 rounds in the air to terrorize the onlookers before leaving the spot.

A team of Bagodar police visited the spot and inquired into the incident. On the basis of the information procured from the petrol pump staff and one of his colleagues, apart from few others, we have launched massive search operation to nab the criminals,” said Bagodar DSP, Deepak Kumar Sharma, adding that the district police were looking into various other aspects of the incident.
