Ara : Maharashtra police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart in Bihar, conducted raids in  Vishnunagar locality under Nawada police station, Ara, and arrested two miscreants on July 24, 2019, in connection with gold loot bid  and murder of an employee of a finance company.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Akash Singh of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh and Manoj Singh of Hadiyabad in Bhojpur district. Later, the Maharashtra police took them to Maharashtra. Akash Singh is said to be the mastermind of the gang.

Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that some armed miscreants had attempted to loot gold from a finance company ‘Muthoot Finance Company’ at Nashik in Maharashtra in June 2019 but their bid was foiled by an employees of the company. Infuriated, the miscreants shot dead an employee of finance company and escaped.

The crime branch of Mumbai, which was investigating into the incident, located the two miscreants through their mobile tower location. After that a team of Maharashtra police reached Ara and contacted Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar, who formed a police team under the SDPO Pankaj Kumar, to arrest the two accused.
