Patna : Patna police recovered a looted police rifle from the possession of sand mafias on September 29, 2018, within three hours of the incident.
A Digha police station team had gone to riverine belt of Ganga for carrying out raids on sand mafias on eptember 29, 2018. Seeing the cops, sand mafias opened fire at the police team and both sides exchanged fire. Some members of sand mafias looted a SLR rifle from a constable and escaped.
As the information regarding loot of police rifle reached police headquarters, Zonal IG, Patna, NH Khan directed for conducting raids in riverine belt of Ganga. Later, police recovered rifle.
Zonal IG NH Khan directed City SP (Central) to ensure arrest of those involved in looting police rifle. He also announced a reward of Rs 5,000 cash for SHO, Digha police station, Patna, for recovering the looted rifle.
