Ara : Two inmates of Ara jail Lamboo Sharma and Pramod Singh were shifted to Buxar Central jail under tight security on September 23, 2018, to maintain law and order inside Ara jail. Both are undergoing life imprisonment in different criminal cases including bomb explosion on Ara civil court premises.
Niranjan Pandit, Superintendent, Ara Jail, said that Lamboo Sharma of Gandhi Chowk under Piro police station and Pramod Singh of village Ekwari under Sahar police station were named accused in Ara civil court bomb explosion case on January 23, 2015.
Lamboo Sharma along with his associate Akhilesh Upadhyaya had escaped from the police custody after bomb explosion on the court campus in which a police constable Amit Kumar of Shahpur and the bomb carrier woman Nagina Devi of Balia in Utter Pradesh had died. Pramod Singh was also made named accused in the case.
A bomb was also exploded about five years ago inside the court premises at the behest of Lamboo Sharma in which an advocate Binay Kumar Tiwari of Ara and bomb carrier of Mehan Tola in Jagdishpur had died.
Lamboo Sharma had also tried to escape from the jail but his effort was foiled by police.
