Kuchaikot CO dies

Gopalganj: Kuchaikot Circle Officer (CO) Amit Ranjan passed away at a hospital in Gorakhpur, UP,  on January 25 morning due to low sugar. As the news of his demise reached Gopalganj, the district administrative officials and the people were shocked. As his body reached Kuchaikot, Gopalganj DM Rahul Kumar, DDC Dayanand Mishra, SDO Mritunjay Kumar and BDOs and COs of the district and a large number of people assembled at the block office with wet eyes to bid adieu to him.

Amit Ranjan (47) had on January 23 gone to Semra to probe into a hullabaloo created by the students of Semra  Intergrated School. He remained on bed on January 24 as he was not feeling well. Late on the same night, he vomited and his sugar was found low. Later, he was shifted to Gorakhpur as doctors were not available in Kuchaikot. He, however, breathed his last on Wednesday morning. He joined at Kuchaikot on May 12, 2015.
