Patna : Kento Momota, Japan, Shi Yuqui, China, and Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, remain World No 1 (1,08,800 points), World No 2 (87,432 points), and World No 3 (79,844 points) respectively in men’s Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on April 16, 2019, but reigning Olympic Champion Chen Long, 30, China, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 4 with 77,888 points while Chou Tien Chen, Taiwan, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 5 with 76,084 points.

Son Wan Ho, South Korea, is World No 6 with 71, 562 points while Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 22, Indonesia, has jumped two places to be ranked World No 7 with 63,780 points after reaching the final of Singapore Open 2019 last week.

Kidambi Srikanth, 26, India, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 8 with 63,140 points. Jonatan Christie, the reigning Asian Games champion, has slipped 1 place and is ranked World No 9 with 62,132 points. Kenta Nishimoto, Japan, is World No 10 with 57,887 points.

Sameer Verma, 24, India, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 15 with 53, 751 points. B Sai Praneeth, India, is World No 20 with 48,427 points while H S Prannoy, India, is World No 21 with 44,990 points.

Parupalli Kashyap, 32, India, has jumped 3 places to be ranked World No 39 with 34,850 points while Subhankar Dey, India, is World No 41 with 32,100 points. Ajay Jayaram, India, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 48 with 30,000 points. Sourabh Verma, India, elder brother of Sameer Verma, has slipped 6 places to be ranked World No 51 with 29,309 points. But, Lakshya Sen, India, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 71 with 22,868 points.
