Patna : World No 18 in ATP rankings Karen Khachanov, 22, Russia, entered the final of Paris Masters 1,000 points tennis tournament inflicting a demoralising defeat on World No 8 Dominic Thiem, 25, Austria, on November 3, 2018, at Paris. Khachanov beat Thiem 6-4, 6-1 in the semi-finals on November 3.

Khachanov won 5 break points in the match to just 1 by Thiem. None of them committed any double fault. Khachanov also won 6 games in a row in the match. His winnings percentage on both his first and second serve was also better than that of Thiem.

In the final on November 4, Khachanov will play the winner of the semi-finals match between World No 2 Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, and World No 3 Roger Federer, 37, Switzerland, scheduled for on November 3 night.
