Nawada: The Nawada DM has suspended the Block Development Officer (BDO), Block Agriculture Officer  (BAO) as well as the `Krishi Salahkar’ of Kauakol block after they were found guilty of corrupt practices relating to diesel subsidy and allotment of subsidised pumpsets to the farmers in  2013-2014. They have been suspended on the basis of the inquiry report of Nawada District
Agriculture Officer (DAO).
Nawada DAO, Sunil Kumar, on July 13, 2017, said that the trio namely Anil Srivastava (BDO), Sanjay Kumar (BAO) and the krishi salahkar embezzled subsidy funds released by the state
government to farmers to purchase diesel to save their paddy seedlings from withering away due to drought. The amount, running into lakhs, was meant for disbursement to farmers who had purchased diesel for two drought-relief irrigations. They also misappropriated the diesel pumpset subsidy of Rs 10,000 per pumpset.
It may be mentioned here that the then Nawada DAO, Bhagwan Yadav, who was later posted as Buxar DAO, was nabbed by the state Vigilance Investigation Bureau sleuths there while accepting Rs 30,000 as bribe from a Buxar seed-cum-fertilizer dealer in November 2015, just a month before his retirement.
