Junior Engineer commits suicide at Buxar

Buxar : Junior Engineer, Rural Work Engineering Department, Amandeep Singh, committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of his room at his house under Buxar Town police station in Buxar District on January 19, 2020, late evening.

Police brought the body over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. The deceased was a resident of Ichchha Nath Staff Colony KV-1, House No 8, at Surat in Gujarat, and was posted in Rural Work Engineering Department, Bihar Government, at Dumraon in Buxar district for the last one year.

SDPO, Buxar, Satish Kuma,r said that Amandeep Singh was deputed at Tudiganj during Human Chain formation programme on January 19. After performing his duty, he returned to his rented house near Buxar Collectorate in the evening the same day and hanged  himself to the ceiling of the room with the help of electric wire and committed suicide.

When his neighbour and Computer Operator Mohan Kumar came to his room and called JE Amandeep Singh, he did not get any response after which entered his room but was shocked to see his body hanging from the ceiling. He immediately informed the landlord and the Executive Engineer, who informed  police. The SDPO and the SDM along with police force rushed to the spot to inquire into the matter.

The SDPO said that Amandeep Singh was posted in the Rural Work Engineering Department at Dumraon in Buxar district for the last one year and had gone to Noida in Uttar Pradesh on leave to spend some days with his family. He had returned from leave and joined his duty just three days ago. He was deputed at Tudiganj in Buxar district during Human Chain programme but committed suicide on his return from the duty.
