Patna : England crushed South Africa (SA) by an innings and 53 runs in third test on Day 5 at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on January 20, 2020, to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. Ollie Pope was declared Player of The Match.

Resuming at their overnight score of 102/6, South Africa, who had scored 209 in 86.4 overs in their first innings. were all out for 237 runs in 88.5 overs in their second innings on Day 5 with spinner Keshav Maharaj scoring 71 in 106 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes while captain Faf du Plessis, who had scored 8 runs in first innings, scored 36 runs in 123 balls with 6 fours and a six.

Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada scored 16 while all-rounder Vernon Philander scored 13. Dane Paterson remained unbeaten on 39 in 40 balls with 6 fours. Keshav Maharaj and Dane Paterson added 99 runs for the 10th wicket.
