Journalist, wife assaulted in Siwan

Patna: With the accused in journalist Rajdeo Ranjan murder case getting bails, another case of murderous attack on another journalist has been reported from Siwan district. The incident took place at Parauli Sah Tola under Nabiganj police outpost.

According to reports, a RJD leader cum block pramukh Babita Devi along with her husband Bachcha Singh and their supporters reached the house of a journalist Dhanesh Singh.  Bachcha Singh’s son Manu Singh allegedly held hostage the journalist at pistol point and he himself assaulted him with hockey stick. Dhanesh was seriously injured and fell unconscious on the ground. When Dhanesh’s wife Aasha Devi intervened she was also assaulted and attacked with knife.

As the villagers heard the screams of the family members, they reached there and found Singh and his men had escaped from there. Dhanesh later lodged a written complaint with police against half  a dozen persons including pramukh in this connection.
