Sitamarhi:  Two motorbike borne armed criminals shot dead a gold merchant  Dharmendra Soni, 50, near Sheohar Patel Chowk on August 2, 2017, night. Soni owned a gold jewellery shop at Sheohar town in North Bihar,  124 km away from state capital Patna.

The incident took place when Soni was returning home at 9.30 pm after closing his shop. He sustained bullet injury in his  chest and died on way to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur. The locals suspect he was killed for not paying `Rangdari’ ( ransom amount) to criminals. Police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.No criminal has None has been arrested in this connection so far.
