Patna: Sitting BJP Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan and senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani was among five elected to Rajya Sabha uncontesteed on Friday which was the last date of withdrawal of nomination papers. He was RJD candidate like Misa Bharti, daughter of RJD president Lalu Prasad and former chief minister Rabri Devi, who too was declared elected to Rajya Sabha by Returning Officer R S Rai.
Former JD (U) president Sharad Yadav and sitting member R C P Sinha too were elected unopposed as JD(U) candidates. Former president of state unit of BJP Gopal Naraian Sinha was among the five candidates declared elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha on FRiday. For five vacancies from Bihar, there were only five candidates.
For the Vidhan Parishad elections too, seven candidates have been elected uncontested. They are:Vinod Narain Jha and Arjun Sahni(BJP),Ghulam Rasool Valiyabi and C P Sinha, JD(U), Ranvijay Singh and S M Qamar Alam(RJD) and Tanverr Akhtar (Congress).
