Patna: JD(U) national general secretary K C Tyagi on Friday welcomed the bail granted by Gujarat High Court to the Patidar movement leader of Gujarat Hardik Patel today. Tyagi, in a statement, said Hardik was granted bail in two cases registered against him at Ahmedabad and Surat with a rider that he would be out of Gujarat for next six months. The JD(U) leader said truth has won in Gujarat and his party welcomes bail to Hardik.
Support to Hardik Patel by JD(U) is considered significant as Hardik is recognised as a mass leader of Kurmis in Gujarat and he would be politically useful in the next year’s assembly elections in Gujarat too. Banking on the Kurmi vote bank support, the JD (U) has also sought support of Kurmi dominated Apna Dal in eastern UP.
