Patna : Firing yet another salvo at rebel former party president Sharad Yadav, a Rajya Sabha member, Bihar JD(U) president Bashishtha Narayan Singh on August 14, 2017, suspended 21 dissident leaders from primary membership of the party for ant-party activities.

Those suspended from the party include former minister Ramai Ram, former Sitamarhi MP Arjun Rai, former Vaishali MLA Raj Kishore Sinha and former MLC Vijay Verma. Saharsa District JD(U) President Dhanik Lal Mukhia, former Madhepura District JD(U) President Siyaram Yadav, Madhepura Nagar Parishad Chairperson Kamal Das and Deputy Chairman District Board, Sitamarhi, Devendra Sah, according to state JD(U) General Secretary Anil Kumar.

The JD(U) has already removed Sharad Yadav from the post of party leader in the Rajya Sabha. R C P Sinha, a former IAS officer of UP cadre, has become new leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha. The party had earlier suspended Ali Anwar Ansari, a Rajya Sabha member, from the parliamentary party after he attended a meeting of opposition leaders convened by the Congress party.
