Patna: JD (U) treasurer Ranbir Nandan Prasad on Sunday alleged the union Food and consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan was not keen to solve the problem of rising prices of pulses. In a statement here, Ranbir said the union government has reached an agreement with the Mozambiq government for import of pulses ignoring the claim of the pulse growers of India. He said the state government had demanded supply of its quota of 18,500 metric tonnes of pulses from the union food ministry but got only 7,000 MT leading to shortage of the commodity and price rise. The JD(U) leader urged Paswan to ensure smooth supply of pulses to Bihar to prevent shortage of the commodity.
