Patna: Members of the Pasi (toddy tappers) community will hold a day long dharna at Gardanibagh Athletics club (GAC)ground on Sunday in protest against total ban on todyy business in the state.
Rambabu Chaudhury, president of Tadi vyavasayei kalyan sangh, in a statement, said thousands of members of Pasi community have become unemployed due to ban on the toddy business. He said none of the two ministers from the community nor five ruling alliance MLAs have come to the rescue of the toddy tappers.Members of the community will burn effigies of the ministers from the community at GAC grounds. Former chief minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi have been invited by the toddy traders to join the dharna.
