Patna : Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai on December 27  alleged the BSP president Mayawati and RJD president Lalu Prasad were opposing PM Narendra Modi on demonetisation and drive against black money as they would be the worst affected. Rai said Lalu was working against the interests of the poor by opposing demonetisation.

Lalu is organising dharna on December 28 across the state against demonetisation. However, two partners in Grand alliance in Bihar will not join RJD’s agitation against demonetisation in Bihar on Wednesday. Bihar JD(U) president Bashistha Narain Singh said, “There are other issues than notebandi to agitate. Our party has supported
demonetisation.”Education minister and state Congress president Ashok Kumar Chaudhury said,”We are not going to join the programme of RJD. We are already agitating on the issue at the national level.”
Reacting to the refusal of two parties to join his campaign against PM Narendra Modi, RJD president Lalu Prasad said, “All this is because of ego problem of the leaders. One feels another is emerging as greater champion to a cause.”
Lalu said he would lead the dharna of RJD workers at Gardanibagh Athletic Club grounds on Wednesday. Other leaders would organise rallies at different places in the state. Lalu said he talked to the West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee on December 26 evening and sought support of her workers for RJD rally.
Raghuwansh Prasad Singh, former  union minister and RJD vice-president, blamed the JD(U) and the Congress for weakening the movement against demonetisation. He regretted the JD(U) was supporting the PM and weakening the opposition unity.
