Buxar : A youth on December 26 demanded an extortion ( Rangdari) amount of Rs 5 lakh from the mukhia of Bagen Gola in Buxar district Ranjeet Kumar Chaudhary on mobile with a threat of dire consequences if he did not yield to his demand. A 0named FIR has been lodged with Buxar Town Police Station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

SHO, Buxar Town Police Station, Raghubar Dayal, said that Ranjeet Kumar Chaudhary, son of Millu Chaudhary 0of village Sohanpatti and Mukhia, Bagen Goal panchayat in Buxar district, complained that Prabhakar alias Bunty Chaudhary, son of Chakravarty Chaudhary of Sohanpatti, demanded Rs 5 lakh as ‘rangdari’ from him on December 26 with a threat to eliminate him if he fails to abide by his dictate. Millu Chaudhary was shot dead about five months ago and ever since his family is living under constant fear.

Ranjeet said that some persons came to him on late December 25 evening and had a tiff with him but the matter was settled up by the villagers. But, he said, that Bunty Chaudhary on December 26 evening demanded extortion ledtamount from him. The SHO said that police is inquiring into the matter.led
