Iyer lauds Turkaulia girls’ slogan ‘ Mujhe Toilet Chhahiye’

Motihari : Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitaion ministry, Government of India, Parameshwaran Iyer, on November 18, 2017, highly appreciated Turkaulia girls’ slogan ‘ I need toilet’ ( Munjhe toilet Chhahiye) and said that he would make efforts to make it the slogan of Swachhata Mission across the country.

Addressing a presser at Jaisinghpur Girls High School, Turkaulia, East Champaran, premises, Iyer said that the Turkaulia girls also took pledge to act as the ambassador of Swachhata Mission and Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan. He said that at present 73 % of the households in the country have toilets compared to 39 % in 2014, the year in which PM Narendra Modi had launched ‘Swachhata Mission’. He said that 227 districts in the country had been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF). He lauded the movement ‘ Champaran Ke Rann’ in this connection.
