Isner, Chung enter QF of Miami Open ATP Masters 1000

Patna : World Number 17 in ATP rankings and 14th seed John Isner, 32, USA, shocked World Number 3 and second seed Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, defeating him in straight sets 7-6, 6-3, in the Round of 16 at Crandon Park Tennis Centre, Key Biscayne, Florida, on March 27, 2018, to enter the quarterfinals of Miami Open ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

World Number 1 Roger Federer and World Number 4 Grigor Dimitrov, 26, Bulgaria, are already out of the tournament suffering shocking losses while World Number 2 Rafael Nadal is not playing due to injury. Federer was stunned by World Number 175 Thansi Kokkinakis, 21, Australia, in the second round while Dimitrov was shocked by World Number 90 Jeremy Chardy, 31, France, in the third round.

World Number 23 and 19th seed Hyeon Chung, 21, South Korea, also entered quartfinals defeating World Number 80 Joao Sousa, 28, Portugal, 6-4, 6-3, in the Round of 16 on March 27, 2018. Chung had reached semi-finals of Australian Open 2018 but lost to eventual champion Roger Federer. Chung had also reached quarterfinals of Indian Wells ATP Master 1000.
