Patna : India beat Sri Lanka (SL) by 7 wickets in the 44th match of CWC at Headingly, Leeds, UK,on July 6, 2019, night, with opener Rohit Sharma, the Hit-Man, scoring 103 in 94 balls hitting 14 fours and 2 sixes, a record five centuries in a single edition of a Cricket World Cup and overall 27th ODI century, and his opening partner Lokesh Rahul scoring 111 in 118 balls with 11 fours and a six. Chasing a target of 265, India scored 265/3 in 43.3 overs.
Rohit has now scored six centuries in the World Cup equalling the record of Sachin Tendulkar. Rohit fell to Kasun Rajitha while Rahul fell Lasith Malinga. Rishabh Pant fell to Isuru Udana for 4.
