Barty, Serena, Kvitova & Konta reach 4th round of Wimbledon Championships

Patna : Top seed Ashleigh Barty, Australia, 11th seed Serena Williams, USA, 6th seed Petra Kvitová, Czech Republic, and 19th seed Johanna Konta, UK, entered the women’s singles 4th round of Wimbledon Championships, London, UK, on July 6, 2019.

Barty swept aside Harriet Dart, UK, 6-1, 6-1 in the third round at All England Club. Barty broke Dart’s service five times in tbhe match besides winning 5 games in a row. Barty also fired 11 Aces in the match to none by Dart. She will face Alison Riske, USA, in the Round of 16 on July 8, 2019.

Serena, the winner of 23 Grand Slam singles title, beat 18th seed Julia Gorges, Germany, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the 4th round of Wimbledon Championships. She will face 30th seed Carla Suarez Navarro, Spain, in the Round of 16.

Sixth seed Kvitová, who won the Wimbledon singles title in 2011 and 2014, beat Magda Linette, Poland, 6-3, 6-2 to enter the 4th round. Kvitová won 3 break points besides winning 3 games in a row in the match. Kvitová will face Konta in the Round of 16.
