Patna : India crushed South Africa (SA) by an innings and 137 runs in the 2nd test on Day 4 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, on October 13, 2019, to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-test series. Spinner Ravichandra Ashwin took 2/45 in 21 overs while fast bowlers Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami took one wicket each. Umesh Yadav took wickets that of Vernon Philander (37) and Kagiso Rabada (4) in his 8th overs. Keshav Maharaj ( 22) fell to Ravindra Jadeja. Earlier, Philander and Maharaj, who added 109 runs for the 9th wicket in 1st innings, added 56 runs for the 8th wicket in the 2nd innings.
