Patna : India beat Australia  by 7 wickets in the 3rd ODI at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, on January 19, 2020, with opener Rohit Sharma, the Hit-Man,  scoring 119 in 128 balls hitting 8 fours and 6 sixes, his 29th ODI ton and 8th against Australia, and captain Virat Kohli scoring 89 in 91 balls with 8 fours. India thus won the three-match series 2-1 rallying back strongly after losing the 1st ODI. Rohit and Kohli added 137 runs for the 2nd wicket. Earlier, Rohit and Lokesh Rahul had added 69 runs for the 1st wicket.

Shreyas Iyer remain unbeaten on 44 in 35 balls with 6 fours and a six, a terrific knowk, while Manish Pandey remained unbeaten on 8 in 4 balls with 2 fours. Kohli and Iyer added 68 runs for the 3rd wicket. Suprisingly, Kohli did not dominate the bowling on January 19 and played second fiddle to first Rohit and then to Iyer. Rohit fell to spinner Adam Zama while Kohli fell to fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. Rahul also fell to Zampa.

Chasing a target of 287 run, India scored 289/3 in 47.3 overs with 15 balls to spare. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Australia had scored 286/9 in 50 overs with Steven Smith scoring 131 in 132 balls with 14 fours and a six, his 9th ODI ton,  while Marnus Labuschagne scored 54 in 64 balls with 5 fours. Captain Aaron Finch (opener) was run out for 19 while his opening partner David Warner fell to Mohammad Shami for 3. Both Warner and Finch had hit unbeaten centuries in the 1st ODI. Alex Carey (wk) made 35 in 36 balls with 6 fours while Ashton Agar remained unbeaten on 11. Ashton Turner fell to fast bowler Navdeep Saini for 4. Shikhar Dhawan did not bat due to injury and as a result Rahul opened the innings with Rohit.

For India, Mohammad Shami took 4/63 in 10 overs while spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 2/44 in 10 overs. Navdeep Saini and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.

Rohit Sharma was declared Player of The Match while Virat Kohli was declared Player of The Series.
