Hit-man Rohit Sharma (opener) scored 119 in 128 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes, his 29th ODI ton, 8th against Australia. Rohit fell to spinner Adam Zampa. Rohit and Kohli added 137 runs for the 2nd wicket. Rohit hit shots in all parts of the ground.
Rohit and his opening partner Lokesh Rahul added 69 runs for the first wicket. Rahul fell to spinner Ashton Agar for 19 in 27 balls with 2 fours.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Australia scored 286/9 in 50 overs with Steven Smith scoring 131 in 132 balls with 14 fours and a six and Marnus Labuschagne scoring 54 in 64 balls with 5 fours.
