Patna : India were 86/1 after 26 overs at stumps on Day 1 in their first innings in the first test against Bangladesh at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on November 14, 2019, with opener Mayank Agarwal  batting on 37 in 81 balls with 6 fours and Cheteswar Pujara unbeaten on 43 in 61 balls 7 fours adding 72 runs for the 2nd wicket. Opener Rohit Sharma fell to Abu Jayed for 6 when the team score was 14.

Earlier, Bangladesh were all out for 150 in 58.3 overs with fast bowlers Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammad Shami, seven wickets among themselves while spinner Ravichandra Ashwin took two wickets.  Captain Mominul Haque scored 37 in 80 balls hitting 6 fours while Mushfiqur Rahim made 43 in 105 balls with 4 fours and a six. Liton Das (wk) scored 21 in 31 balls with 4 fours. Taijul Islam was run out for 1. Bangladesh had won the toss but opted to bat.

Mohammad Shami took 3/27 in 13 overs while Ishant Sharma took 2/20 in 12 overs. Umesh Yadav took 2/47 in 14.3 overs while Ravichandran Ashwin took 2/43 in 16 overs.
