Patna : West Indies (WI) fast bowlers Kemar Roach and Shannon Gabriel rocked the much vaunted Indian batting line- up reducing them to 32/3 in just 11 overs in the first session of the play on Day 1 in First Test at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, on August 22, 2019.  West Indies had won the toss and opted to bowl.

India lost their first wicket at 5 when opener Mayank Agarwal fell to Kemar Roach for 5. Cheteswar Pujara, the Man of the Series in test series against Australia in 2019 and had scored an unbeaten century against West Indies ‘A’ team recently, also fell to Roach for 2 when the team score was 7. Captain Virat Kohli fell to Shannon Gabriel for 9 when the score was 25 making it 25/3.

Interestingly, Indian team management preferred Hanuma Vihari to Hit-Man Rohit Sharma, who had scored five centuries in the ICC World Cup 2019, due to former’s part-time bowling. Opener Lokesh Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane are on the crease.
