Patna : World No 30 H S Prannoy, 27, India, crashed out of BWF World Championships at Basel, Switzerland, losing to reigning World Champion and top seed Kento Momota, 24, Japan, in the third round. World No 1 Momota beat Prannoy 21-19, 21-12 in 56 minutes at St Jakobshalle Stadium, Basel, Switzerland, to advance to quarter-finals of the event.
Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by the India. He won 4 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Prannoy. Momota now leads Prannoy 6-0 Head to Head. Prannoy had defeated five-time former World Champion and twice Olympic Gold Medallist in 2nd round on August 20, 2019.
