Patna : India were 240/7 at lunch in their first innings on day 3 of the fifth cricket test against England at Kennington Oval, London, on September 9, 2018, riding on 56 by Hanuma Vihari, 24, with 7 fours and an unbeaten 41 with 6 fours by allrounder Ravindra Jadeja. India though still trail by 92 runs. England, who lead the 5-test series 3-1, were all out for 332 in their first innings.

Hanuma Vihari and Jadeja were involved in a 77 run partnership for the 7th wicket. India lost just one wicket that of Vihari in the first session of the play on day 3. Vihari fell to spinner Meen Ali. Legendary Sunil Gavaskar was highly impressed with the temperament shown by Vihari in his debut test and said he is good enough to open the innings in future.  Jadeja had taken four wickets in England’s first innings.
