Patna : Opener Rohit Sharm and Cheteswar Pujara have added 154 runs in 240 balls in an unbroken partnership for the 2nd wicket as India progressed to 175/1 in 48 overs at a run rate of 3.65 at tea in their 2nd innings on Day 4 in the 1st test against South Africa (SA) at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on October 5, 2019. India lead by 246 runs.Opener Mayank Agarwal fell to Keshav Maharaj for 7 when the score was 21.

Rohit, who had scored 176 in the first innings with 6 sixes, was unbeaten on 84 in 118 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes- two each of spinners Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt, while Pujara is unbeaten on 75 in 139 balls with 13 fours and a six.

Pujara, who had scored only 10 runs in first 63 balls he faced, turned aggressive following instructions from dressing room to accelerate the rate of scoring. After that, Pujara has been scoring at a brisk pace matching Rohit strokes for stroke.  India may declare their 2nd innings anytime in the post-tea session.
