Munger: Santosh Yadav, who was arrested recently for allegedly smuggling liquor, told Munger police on Thursday evening that Jharkhand had become the largest supplier of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) to the dry state Bihar. Bihar market is generating good revenue to state. Santosh Yadav  is aresident of village Hassanganj under Kashimbaar police station under Munger municipal corporation (MMC).

One hundred six sealed phials of IMFL of different popular brands totalling 60.5 litres were seized by police from the house of one Chotu Sharma recentlyi These brands are on great demand among the liquor addicts.The seized wine bottles  in  packed cartons were found dumped in a deserted house of a person of that village. Police arrested one while two others escaped. The liquor addicts are ready to pay double the price of the liquor bottles, sources said and added that the complete prohibition in the state has shown a very good result in the matter of countrymade liquor. Lalmani Devi of mahalla Mangal bazar under Kotwali police station, Munger, who was fed up with her alcoholic husband now-a-days feels very much relaxed as her husband does not get pouch from the vendors anymore.
