Sasarm : A  woman Rinku Devi was burnt to death at her in-laws’ place at village Rotawa under Baghela police station in Rohtas district on September 10, 2018, night, for a car in dowry. A named FIR has been lodged with  Baghela police station against six persons including her husband in this connection. Her mother-in-law Nirmala Devi is being treated at Sasaram Sadar Hospital under police custody.  Police are searching for the rest of the accused.

SHO, Baghela police station, Anil Pandey said that Rinku Devi, daughter of Bhagwan Singh of Jaipur, Rajasthan,  was married to Yogesh Singh of village Rotawa under Baghela police station on May 6, 2018, was ever since being tortured by her in-laws for a car and when their demand was not fulfilled, they burnt and killed her on September 10 night. The in-law also performed her last rites in a haste to erase evidence.

In the meantime, some villagers informed Bhagwan Singh about the incident. Hearing it, Bhagwan Singh rushed to  Rotawa and queried about his daughter which led to scuffle between him and her in-laws in which her mother-in-law Nirmala Devi was injured and admitted to Sadar Hospital, Sasaram.
