Homeguards Jawan hacked to death in West Champaran

Bettiah : A Homeguards Jawan Vinod Mahto of village Maniyari under Shikarpur police station in West Champaran district was hacked to death on May 25, 2019, morning, by some people near village Pursotipur. The deceased was going to another  village.

Sources said that the assailants waylaid Vinod Mahto near village Pursotipur and hacked him into pieces a sharpedged  weapon. The deceased was on leave.

SHO, Shikarpur police station, Ugranath Jha said that the body was recovered and sent to MJK Hospital, Bettiah, for autopsy. Prima  facie, old enmity appears to be reason behind the murder, the SHO said. A case has been lodged with the police station in this connection making a dozen persons named  accused, he said adding police are investigating the case.
