Ara : Danish Rizwan, a senior HAM (S) leader and one of the main named accused in the murder of businessman Krishna Kumar Singh alias Kumar Ji, surrendered in before Ara Civil Court in the afternoon on July 26, 2017, a day after the police attached his properties on the order of the court. He was forwarded to jail. With his surrender, five out of ten accused have in this murder case while five accused are still at large.
Some armed persons had shot dead a businessman Krishan Kumar Singh alias Kumar Ji, son of a businessman late Ram Khelawan Singh on July 2, 2017, in Padav locality near Model Institute under Town police station when he was on way to his house.
A named FIR was lodged with Town police station, Ara, against 10 persons including Danish Rizwan, Munnu Singh, son of Malti Devi, Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation, Indrabhan Singh, former district president,Vanijya Manch, BJP, Chand Mian, a notorious criminal, and his brother Nayeem Mian. After the warrant of arrest against the named accused, Chand Mia and Danish Rijwan’s two brothers: Md Saheed and Zamal Asaraf surrendered and were forwarded to jail.
After his name was dragged in the murder case, Danish Rizwan had resigned from the post of the spokesperson of the HAM(S) and went underground. He had applied for anticipatory bail but the court of Ara District and Sessions Judge, Arun Kumar Jha, had rejected his bail petition. In the meantime the police requested the court for the property attachment of the named accused. The court issued warrant of the attachment of property against them but stayed the property attachment of Danish Rijwan and Indrabhan Singh for 10 days,which expired on July 24, 2017. Police attached the property of Danish Rizwan on July 25, 2017.
Indrabhan Singh, former district president, Vanijya Manch, BJP, surrendered in the court in the morning on July 26. In the afternoon, Danish Rijwan suddenly reached the Ara Civil court and surrendered before it. After his surrender, Danish Rijwan said that he tried to surrender at Manali on July 25 but police did not accept his arrest there. He claimed he was innocent and has nothing to do with the murder of the businessman.
