Patna : Patna Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel seized 160 bottles of liquor from Hatia –Patna Express and Asansol – Varanasi passenger trains on Monday during an intensive search drive launched in all passenger trains passing through Patna Junction. Two persons: Rajiv Kumar , 22, and Chattu Kumar , 19 , both from Patna district , were arrested by GRP men for illegally carrying liquor in trains in Bihar, said Patna SRP Jitendra Mishra.
Mishra said the GRP personnel seized 41 bottles of liquor of 750 ml, 23 bottles of 375 ml and 96 bottles of 180 ml during search drive in these two trains. During interrogation it was revealed that these two arrested persons were carrying liquor from West Bengal and Jharkhand states to supply them in Bihar, he said adding both of them were sent to jail.
Notorious criminals arrested: Two notorious criminals: Amar Kumar , 22, and Sanjeev Kumar , 25 , were arrested by Patna GRP in connection with a recent dacoity committed in a passenger train near Karauta station under Danapur division of East Central Railway ( ECR ).These two criminals, who were absconding in the case , were sent to jail earlier in connection with loot and robbery incidents , GRP sources said.
Water purifier plants installed : Ircon , a wing of Indian Railways , installed six water purifier plants ( RO ) at Patna Junction ( four ) and Danapur railway hospital ( two ) at a function held here on Monday. Altogether 17 RO plants have been installed under Danapur division alone of which 13 are at Patna Junction, said Danapur PRO R K Singh.
Commercial publicity : The ECR held an interactive session with the reputed publicity agencies of the country here on Monday to promote publicity of different products through railways to generate more revenue. ECR chief commercial manager Mahboob Rub held an interactive session with the advertising agencies and sought their opinion to further improve railway revenue through the medium of commercial publicity.
