GRP, Buxar, rescue 90 child labourers

Buxar: Government Railway  Police (GRP), Buxar, rescued 90 child labourers of a particular community from  Bhagalpur Express on Wednesday at Buxar railway  station under Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR) and also arrested six traffickers.

Rail SP Jitendra Mishra said that that the GRP had received information that a number of children in the ge group of 6 to 18 years were being taken in Bhagalpur Express. Psix olice immediately swung into action and rescued all the 90 children and arrested six traffickers at the Buxar railway station. He said the children belonged to different parts of the state and the traffickers were from Kishanganj, Bhagalpur and Purnia.

The traffickers were taking the children to Maharashtra to be employed as child labourers there. The traffickers, however, said that they were taking the children to get them admitted in schools there. The rail SP said that the children were kept in the barrack of the RPF and the traffickers were interrogated. He said it was the second incident when child labourers were rescued in large number from train in the last three months.
