Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumat and  his cabinet colleagues boycotted the International Yoga festivaal organised as an UNO programme. None of his officers joined the programme anywhere in the state unlike their counterparts in Jharkhand where Yoga camps were organised at district levels and joined by the respective deputy commissioners. Jharkhand has a BJP led government.
At Patna, union communications and IT minister Ravishankar Prasad led the yoga followers who included the three MLAs of Patna: Arun Kumar Sinha, Sanjeev Chaurasia and Nitin Navin and other office bearers of the BJP. The union minister of state for medium and small scale industries Giriraj Singh attended the camp at Shivaji Park, kankarbagh colony while Union minister of state for water supply and sanitation Ramkripal Yadav at Muzaffarpur and  union food and consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan at Hajipur.
Leader of opposition Prem Kumar participated at the yoga camp at Patna Gandhi Maidan. Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi could not attend the programme as he was reportedly in Chennai on a private visit. State  BJP president Mangal pandey too was absent because of his engagements in New Delhi, where he had gone to get his son admitted to a college. Former leader of opposition Nand Kishore Yadav too is in New Delhi to meet the party president Amit Shah.
Vice chancellor of Patna Univesity Y C Shimardi attended the yoga camp at Science College campus where students and teachers of the university too joined him.
