New Delhi : Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had issued notification GSR 1095(E) on November 28, 2016, mandating the provision of a vehicle location tracking device and one or more emergency buttons with effect from April 1, 2018, in public service vehicles except for two-wheelers, E-rickshaw, three- wheelers and any transport vehicles for which permit is not required under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
This information was given by Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Mansukh Lal Mandavia in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on March 22, 2018, according to a PIB release.
