Goyal lays foundation of electrification of 97 km Ara – Sasarm section

Ara : Railways Minister Piyush Goel on August 12, 2018, laid foundation of electrification of 97 km long Ara-Sasaram section at an estimated cost of Rs 91.29 crore and four Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at Ara, Koelwar, Kulharia and Karisath railway stations at an estimated cost of Rs 6.69 crore under Danapur Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, at Ara railway station. He also announced stoppage of Howrah-Haridwar Express train at Ara railway station and directed the GM, ECR, to announce the date for stoppage.

Local MP and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and Renewable Energy, Union Minister of State for Health and Buxar MP Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Sasaram MP Chhedi Paswan and senior officials of ECR including the DRM were present on the occasion.

Addressing a gathering at Ara railway station, Goel paid his tributes to the freedom fighter of the first war of Independence in 1857 Babu Kuer Singh and said that Mahatma Gandhi was closely and deeply related to Bihar but after independence no government paid proper attention for the development of the state. It was only after formation of the BJP led NDA Government under PM Narendra Modi at the centre and NDA Government headed CM Nitish Kumar in Bihar that the state is on fast track of development.

Goyal said that the PM has stressed on all round development of Eastern and North East states as without development of these States, and allotted funds for the purpose. He added that the PM envisaged the houses, drinking water, internet, road, electricity and other basic amenities to everyone in the country under his scheme of New India.

Goyal said that works on different projects of railway worth about Rs 50,000 crore is going on in different part of Bihar and assured to develop Ara as a Model Station and added that beautification of the Ara railway station will also be done.
