Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : In its initiative to create global citizens, Delhi Public School Bokaro, not only made Jharkhand but the country proud as it is the only school in India to be selected by the Government of Germany (External Affairs Ministry) to promote German language in collaboration with Goethe -Institute through ‘PASCH-network’.

It may be mentioned here that the German government has selected only two schools from South Asia among the 38 schools from all over the world. PASCH stands for Schools Partners for the Future initiatives in field of education, which has a global network of 1,800 schools that place a high value on German Language.

As per the information sent by the External Affairs Ministry of Germany, this collaboration entitles DPS Bokaro students to several benefits which includes Fully paid scholarship for students to PASCH youth courses in Germany, German teachers’ training programme, Class observations along with feedback- a mutual effort to improve the teaching quality, German teaching materials for school library, Participation in German cultural events (competitions, workshops etc), and Scholarship for German teacher to Germany.

Under this collaboration, DPS Bokaro students will be visiting Germany to know about the pedagogy imparted besides learning about the culture.

Director & Principal, DPS Bokaro, Dr Hemlata S Mohan, said it is indeed a proud moment for the school in its educational journey to have been conferred with the coveted global recognition as it is the only school from India to have received this honour this year.

“Our students have to know themselves and connect firmly with their roots, values and most importantly their Indian culture. Identity is always important but we also encourage them to look beyond, recognise and value the incredible opportunities that are created by the diversity and richness that is there across our planet,” remarked Dr. Mohan.
