Patna : An Indian Navy rescue team on August 10, 2018, joined the SDRF and NDRF teams searching for a white Scorpio, which had fallen into river Ganga on July 31, 2018, from Gandhi Setu, Patna, breaking its railing.
The SUV, which fell into the 50 ft deep Ganga after breaking the railing near pillar number 38 on Gandhi Setu, is believed to be atleast 40 ft beneath, as Ganga is 40 ft deep on the spot of mishap. The rescue team of the Indian Navy comprises 7 members including 2 officers and 5 navy divers.
The Indian Navy rescue team is carrying a Israel Weapons Industries (IWI) Ship. The team, in collaboration with the Kankarbagh police and administration, used its special capabilities to the fullest using Sonar system and Gemini system to locate the car. The search operation found a metal 500 meters east of the pillar number 38. SDO, Patna City, Rajesh Raushan, said that the search operation would continue on August 11, 2018, too.
